Riverdale

Let me preface this review with the fact that I was not optimistic at all about this show based on a comic. I mean how can you translate a character named Jughead into real world? I’m not gonna lie and say that I didn’t watch Suite Life of Zack and Cody and that Cole Sprouse is the reason why I started watching the show. He is the sole reason that I started watching the show and him being the narrator made the show start up on a positive note.

Then this show became something that I couldn’t even imagine. I have a soft spot for the teenage dramas and this one has taken two of my favorites, Secret Life of The American Teenager and Pretty Little Liars, and combined them into one. There are so many things that happen at once with it seeming like a normal teen show and then murder gets involved. I have no idea if the comics ever got this dark but I will say that this is the way that they will make this show great and last a long time.

The thing that makes me excited was the fact that all of the characters have secrets and there is no way to tell who is wrong and who is right. The drama starts from the first second and continues as the show goes on. The only person that may ruin it for me is Luke Perry who plays Fred Andrews, Archie the main characters father. He seems to be in a weird place when the show begins and it just throws things off when he is on screen but just not enough to turn me away. This will be a weekly watch for me and I think everyone should watch it too.
